Merge PDF
Merge PDF files into one document
Merge PDF joins separate PDF files into a single document. Typical uses are a job application with a CV plus certificates, a college admission pack, or an office bundle of invoices. You see first-page previews so you know which file is which, then drag the stack into order and download.
Merging in the browser means the files are not stored in a Template Maker account. Treat the download as you would any other personal PDF: keep it only as long as you need it.
If you need to drop pages after a merge, use Split / Delete Pages. If one file’s pages are in the wrong sequence, use Arrange PDF on that file first, then merge.
How to combine PDFs
Upload each PDF. Wait for the first-page preview. Drag cards so the covering letter sits first and annexures follow the checklist. Generate the merged file and open it once on your device before you upload it to a portal.
- First-page previews for each file
- Drag-and-drop order
- One download for the whole bundle
- No login
Merge, split and compress as one workflow
Portals often want a single PDF under a size cap. Merge the parts, check page order, then Compress PDF. If the compressed file is still large, remove unused pages with Split / Delete Pages and compress again.
Password-protected PDFs may not preview or merge until you save an unlocked copy from the original issuer. This tool is not a password cracker.
Quality after merge
Merge concatenates pages. It does not restyle fonts or fix a fuzzy scan. If a certificate photo is unreadable, rescan that page and replace it with Image to PDF plus merge, rather than hoping merge will sharpen it.
Tips for application bundles
Use a consistent file name such as application-enclosures.pdf. Put a one-page index first if the packet is long. Keep source PDFs until you get an acknowledgement. Merging is easy to redo if a board asks you to insert one more certificate.
Do not merge files you are not allowed to share. Admission and KYC packs contain personal data; send them only through the official channel.
If a merged file opens with missing fonts or a blank page, the source PDF may be damaged or still encrypted. Open each original on your computer first. Rebuild a bad scan with Image to PDF rather than merging a corrupt file into a good pack. For a portal that wants PDF/A, this merger produces a normal PDF; convert with the software the notice names if PDF/A is mandatory.
