Resize a photo to 30 KB

Thirty kilobytes sits between the harsh 20 KB signature cap and the common 50 KB exam photo cap. Some Madhya Pradesh, university and departmental portals print “maximum 30 KB” for the live photograph. This page prefills that target as JPG.

You still need a usable face. Crop head and shoulders, use a plain background if you can, then compress. Do not stretch a tiny WhatsApp image to fill the frame — 30 KB of upscaled noise fails visual checks even when the file size matches.

30 KB compared with 20 KB and 50 KB

If the notice says 20 KB, do not upload 30 KB hoping it will pass. If it says 50 KB, use the 50 KB page so you are not throwing away quality for no reason. Use 30 KB only when that number is written on the form or kiosk screen.

MPOnline and CSC counters sometimes show 30 KB for a particular scheme while another scheme on the same computer asks 50 KB. Change the target to match the screen in front of you.
