Resize a railway / RRB photograph

Railway Recruitment Board forms ask for a JPEG photograph that is small enough to upload and clear enough for an e-call letter. “Railway photo resize” usually means getting a phone picture under the printed KB cap, most often 50 KB. This page opens Image Resize at 50 KB JPG.

Each CEN (centralised employment notice) can differ. Some ask 20–50 KB, some add a pixel size, some insist on a light background. Copy the figures from that CEN. This site does not apply for railway jobs and does not issue hall tickets.

Photograph and signature are different files

RRB signature limits are commonly in the 10–20 KB band, sometimes with a short pixel strip. Crop only the signature, then use the 20 KB page. Mixing a passport photo into the signature field is a frequent rejection.

Wear the kind of clothing the notice allows. Heavy filters, sunglasses and group photos fail later even if the KB matches. Crop to the face here; do not rely on the railway site to crop for you.

  • JPEG / JPG, not WEBP or PDF, for the photo slot
  • 50 KB start for the live photo unless the CEN says otherwise
  • Separate, smaller file for the signature
  • Keep originals until the application is submitted

After a rejected railway upload

Read the error: oversized, undersized, or not JPEG. Undersized means you went below a minimum KB — raise the target slightly or use a less tight crop. Oversized means generate again at 50 KB or whatever the CEN states. If pixels are wrong, type the width and height from the notice.
